Peter Clendennen-one of our parents and an accomplished cyclist, in conjunction with the Parents Association have been busy organising this event.

There is a choice of 2 routes- a 45 km for the leisurely cyclist and a 90 km for the more enthusiastic and adventurous athlete.

Registration is from 8.30 am at the school in Kiltallagh.The cycle event itself will commence at 10 a.m. from the Community Centre(directly adjacent to the school where there will be ample parking).

There will be food stations along the route with further refreshments and entertainment at the finish line.

This promises to be a wonderful family day out with activities for children at the finish line.

This will be an ideal training event for those wishing to complete the Ring of Kerry or the Ring of Beara.

So pump up those tyres and start training on those hills!

A Christingle ‘consists of an orange, in the top of which a small hole has been bored. The word ‘Christingle’ means ‘Christ-Light’. The orange is said to represent the world, the candle represents Christ as the light of the world. Cocktail sticks are inserted into the orange with sweets on them. The sweets are the fruits of the earth, God’s good gifts to his children. The red ribbon is a reminder of the incarnation and passion of Jesus, in which all Christians share.

The children all played a very active part and sang the Christingle Song.

Snow snow everywhere
School is closed but we don’t care!
I opened the curtains and looked around
To see a white blanket of snow on the ground…
I ran outside with such delight
To see this wonderful Winters sight
I ran and jumped, the day was great
No breakfast, lunch or dinner ate.
But it all came to an end so fast
The fun and games didn’t last!
I slipped on ice and broke my knee
And before I knew it
I was in A and E !

My animal is a kitten
Her name is Mitten
She likes to play

Having watched the movie ‘Madagascar’, they then heard a story from Santa himself entitled -‘The Night before Christmas’.

Having checked his list,Santa announced that all the boys and girls were on the nice list and so had a surprise gift for every one!

We are delighted to say that all the staff are on Santa’s good list too!

The Sunday Service was opened by the Kiltallagh Peace Proms Choir- singing a delightful version of ‘Heal The World’-accompanied by Sean Treacy on piano.

The junior room children then took centre stage- with their production of Whoopsy Daisy Angel. ‘Whoopsy Daisy’ is a rather clumsy angel who never gets anything important to do. She is always late and her halo is never straight! But one day it all changes and Whoopsy Daisy gets a very important job to do!

Well done to all the children for their wonderful acting. We are all very proud of you here in Kiltallagh.

Each week  a pupil gets to choose and recite their favourite poem.

The children in the junior  room penned their own poems  and recited them for Joe. Following a lovely afternoon, Joe took out his guitar and sang his newly composed song ‘A Summer’s Day’

We are really grateful to Joe for making the trip from Clare- especially to be with us.

We are already looking forward to a return visit.
