Planting and Gardening

Just before Easter, the pupils and staff of Kiltallagh embarked on a planting/gardening adventure under the guidance of our gardener extraordinaire-Eileen! With the environment always to the fore of their minds, they began planting flowers and vegetables in recycled egg cartons.

They are eagerly watching out for their sunflowers to shoot up- particularly in the past few days with the beautiful sunshine we have had.

Having read Jack and The Beanstalk with Miss Corcoran, the pupils were very enthused about setting some vegetables and so they have built two raised vegetable beds in the green area at the rear of the school. We cannot wait to use our carrots, onions, green beans, potatoes, celery and some of our vast selection of herbs to make delicious home-made soup/salads.

The children are very optimistic about growing a beanstalk taller than Jack! We will just have to wait and see!

Even though our Open Day has passed, our door is always open for enquiries and a chat about our beautiful school i the heart of Castlemaine village.
